Brother Grand, Emily Zisman and The Mightiest Machine, Band of Lovers, Maggie Y/O
Friday, May 19
Show @ 9:00 PM MDT
Ages: 21 and Over
California based Brother Grand blends Psychedelic-Folk Rock with a twist of Film-score Soul. With an emphasis on engaging live performances, Brother Grand pushes the limits without breaking the ties. Not just a mere duo, Brother Grand expands their message through the use of live looping, a rhodes piano, chaotic string textures, thunderous drumming, and heartfelt vocal harmonies. Whether stripped down to acoustic guitar & upright bass, or surfing an electric wall of sound, Brother Grand always delivers with passion, honesty and presence.
Emily Zisman and The Mightiest Machine
Emily Zisman is a folk-Americana singer-songwriter born and raised in the San Francisco Bay area. As a writer, she takes her cues from artists like Dar Williams, Joni Mitchell, and Ani DiFranco. She sings of our vulnerabilities and fears, love and fight, crafting her lyrics into song with her soulfully-folk voice evocative of Emmylou Harris.
Band of Lovers
Band of Lovers combines pop harmonies, an Americana aesthetic, and four years of a non-stop touring lifestyle in their brand new sophomore album American Tour, due out June 2nd. Their live shows are a journey as well—raw and vibrant; full of love, heartbreak, and adventure. Hailing from New York and California, they’re currently out on a five-month national tour supporting the release.
SF local by way of New Orleans, Maggie Y/O journeyed westward to share love stories and quesadilla recipes. Through a blend of beach pop, country, and rock & roll, these lofi chillers recount tales of heartbreak and redemption with effervescence and tenderness.
